The Teachers Daughter

Today's speaker was a special one; she comes from my high school, St. Luke's, and she is the daughter of the teacher of Bio-Med 1, Anna Marie Bently. She was performing as a neonatal nurse. This person sticks a very long tube up a newborn's nose to check their stomach fluid and feed them formula. She performed this on a manakin by measuring the tube from the nose to the ear than from ear to stomach. That's as far as it needs to go in but if the baby turns blue, then blue it out as it may be in their lungs. The child will most likely be coughing through the procedure.
