This day was when Police Sergeant John gave a presentation on types of evidence in car crash forensics. I have no real context of what this person is like as I missed day one, which also caused us to accidentally take pictures of a victim, which wasn't allowed. He talked about roadway evidence such as tire marks, gouge marks, bodily fluids, etc. They have to look at many things, but I believe the three most important are collision damage, seatbelt positions, and airbag deployments. Airbag deployments are extremely important because they can show the type of car based on what and how airbags are deployed; for example, new vehicles will have leg airbags deployed. Seatbelts are also important as it is important in trying to find out who to pin most of the blame on. For example, drunks usually arent wearing a seatbelt, and many people lie about wearing a seatbelt if the belt is moving freely in the car they were not wearing it, and this can be useful in identifying if the victim is above lying or not. He went on to tell about specific cases, but none of those stuck with me so I can't explain them in detail.
