Bad Apples

This is the second week of the Biomedical Interventions class, and I'm beginning to understand the workload of the course. Not to say I'm overwhelmed, but I can see how it's modeled after a college-level course. I also see how much I have left to grow to understand everything expected of us. What made me realize that most was the Thursday skills lab this week.

In the lab, we started out with a plain apple, a Sharpie, a knife, and four toothpicks. The first instruction was to draw a line indicating the frontal plane of the apple, "Uh-oh," my brain goes, "What in the heck is the frontal plane of the apple." These instructions went on over time like draw a "C" contralateral to the right anterior surface. As time went on I got much more lost in what was being told of me that I even accidentally drew vertical lines horizontally. In the end, the apple was meant to look like a little human with their arms and legs out, but I ended up with a deformed puppy with a very not cute face. This means I need to take a little time and study the different planes of the body by myself in my spare time.

This alongside my other work for the class was a lot, to say the least, and to make matters worse when we cut the apple up to eat I ended up cutting my finger, with a PLASTIC KNIFE. It's okay though this just means the course is challenging which is all the more fun. Not everything is always a struggle, and I'm also currently the lead in the biomedical balderdash game which to me is really the best thing that could be happening right now. Overall this week was busy but very enjoyable nonetheless.
